操作系统是计算机及相关专业课程体系中的一门专业核心课程，也是计算机专业学生必修的专业基础课程之一。操作系统既是资源的管理者，又是服务的提供者，承接着计算机硬件和软件课程的过渡。操作系统从资源管理的角度组织课程内容，包括进程管理和处理机调度、存储管理和虚存实现、设备管理、文件管理和用户接口几部分。通过学习，使学生理解操作系统的基本概念、工作原理和实现技术，学习用计算思维去发现问题、分析问题和解决问题，为今后的学习和工作奠定基础。
The operating system is a professional core course in the computer science and related professional curriculum system. It is also one of the basic courses of computer science students. The operating system is both a resource manager and a service provider, undertaking a transition to computer hardware courses and software courses. The operating system organizes course content from a resource management perspective, including process management and processor scheduling, storage management and virtual storage implementations, device management, document management, and user interfaces.
